About Us

Dee Dean established the East County Herald 20 years ago, as a Photojournalism Publication. Dean recently retired as Owner/Publisher of the Herald. I was a photojournalist for 9 years with the Herald. When Dean retired, the Herald name retired as well.

The East County Community Times was established as the next generation photojournalism publication. The Herald was a hard copy publication. The Times is an online publication with a similar style as the Herald. There are plenty of photos showing East County events.

We currently have local columnists as well as elected officials writing for the Times. We encourage our readers to let us know of events to cover. Our team covers local Chamber events; local council meetings; local, state, and federal elected representatives; non-profit organization events; East County community signature events; and other events of interest. Our team will be happy to add readers to our e-mailing list.
