New York to Paris -- You Had to be There
The Lemon Grove Historical Society will welcome the re-enactment of the "Great New York to Paris Automobile Race of 1908" on Wednesday, Oct. 18 between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Parsonage Museum, 3185 Olive, Lemon Grove. Vintage vehicles driven by afficionadoes of auto history will reveal the significance of the race, which spanned continents and oceans as intrepid drivers proved the worth of the internal combustion engine. Lemon Grove will serve as the "French Frontier."

The Hupmobile was made between 1909 and 1939 by the Hupp Motor Car Company, Detroit.
